This half-day workshop is designed to provide an introduction to ethics committees and an orientation for ethics committee members.  We will begin with an overview of ethics committee structure, function, and roles.  We will identify challenges often encountered by ethics committees and describe some of the tools and supports available to aid committees in their work.   There will be opportunity to discuss cases drawn from the experiences of ethics committees in Nova Scotia and for participants to share both triumphs and concerns from particular committees.
